About the Founder

 

Dr. Naresh Talathoti 

Dr. Naresh Talathoti was born in a Telugu Christian family in February, 1970. His Parents, Surya Prakasha Rao and Lalitha Bhai Yandrapati are from Guntur. Father is from Nadigeddapalem, near Burripalem and Mother is from Guntur proper. They moved to Vishakhapatnam in 1963 for teaching job opportunity in Govt. Elementary Schools.

Our Story

Where It All Began

Naresh has two older brothers (Ramesh & Suresh) and one younger sister (Latha). Father went to be with the Lord in March, 1989. His father wanted to see him as a doctor, but fortunately, Naresh got into medical college in September, 1989. His mother worked as head mistress in elementary school, Pendurthy, worked very hard without support from her husband and raised all 4 children. His mother went to be with the Lord, in February, 2016, surprisingly the same month she was born. His eldest brother went to be with the Lord, in 2019. His second eldest brother works in Naval Dockyard in Ship Building Center (SBC) in technical department. His younger sister is a teacher in Gajuwaka and his brother-in-law is an Electrical Engineer in Vishakhapatnam Steel Plant. Dr. Naresh and Jyothi are blessed with two children. Preeti and Pratheek.

Awards & Recognition

Dr. Naresh completed his MBBS, in Rangaraya Medical College in 1996 and got married Dr. Jyothi Rani Kunavarapu BAMS in December, 1997 . Dr. Naresh worked in Medwin Hospitals in Hyderbad, and CARE Cardiac Institute, under Dr. Somaraju garu and got an opportunity to teach in Spartan Health Sciences University, School of Medicine in St. Lucia, Eastern Caribbean Islands in 1999 and worked as a Faculty until May, 2002. After that got an opportunity as “Post-Doctoral Research Fellow” in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology Research at Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC) in New York, NY, USA. In 2015 August worked as “PostDoctoral Research Scientist”.

During that time in stay at New York City, he attended a Telugu Christian Church of New York (TCCNY) and served as Finance Secretary, Treasurer, Deacon and an Elder of the Church. During that time, he completed Masters in Theology (M. Th.) and was ordained as a Pastor by the same church

 

 

They moved to San Antonio, Texas in August 2015. Naresh asked God to open the doors to plant a Church in San Antonio, Texas. Finally God gave him Peace and Confidence to plant a Church and Pastor Naresh named it as a “House of Prayer at San Antonio” on a Easter Sunday, in 2019. Dr. Naresh is fulfilling his Secular Job responsibilities as a Clinical Research Project Manager for Trauma & Emergency Research as well as Spiritual responsibilities as a Senior Pastor and a Founder for House of Prayer at San Antonio (Bi-lingual Church (Telugu & English).

Dr. Naresh, joined Trauma and Emergency Surgery Research Team in University of Texas, Health Sciences Center at San Antonio, (UTHSA) in University Health System (UHS) as a Clinical Research Project Manager in January 2016. He possess over 19 years of Clinical Research Experience as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow and as a Post- Doctoral Research Scientist. He is experienced in coordination, management of Industry Sponsored, NIH Sponsored, DoD Funded, and PI initiated clinical trials, and successfully managed Drug & Device clinical trials (Phase I IV) from initiation through closeout, manuscript preparation and publication.

Dr. Naresh is also pursuing his Doctoral Studies in Concordia Seminary, in St. Louise, Missouri. During that process, he became a Licensed Deacon for Lutheran Church of Missouri Synod (LCMS). After his completion of theological studies, the Ordination that he will be receiving from Concordia Seminary will be recognized world wide.

 

HOPSA has grown in to an integral place of worship for local residents, with regular Sunday services and numerous events throughout the year. However in living up to our name, we carry out the work of God well beyond the walls of the church.
